The Village Has Taken Over

As my husband Prepares dinner for my kids, I am sitting here overwhelmed by the day we just had. It’s been this way everyday and I’m sure anyone who reads this blog knows how much the struggle is real in my life. But it’s the life of all moms and dad’s during a time, that many of us are questioning if bringing kids into a world like this was a good idea. No, I don’t mean regretting having kids, more like the worry of what their life is ultimately going to be like and if I could go back and time and talk to my younger self, would I tell my younger self to have kids much earlier or after all this crazy happened because the young kids just don’t understand, and this isn’t a normal childhood.

Our Days are proof of how much the outside world is affecting our day to day. Our Oldest together is about to be 3 years old, and completely ready for preschool. He is constantly wanting some kind of human interaction with kids his own age. And while he has a younger sister that is very close, it’s just not enough anymore.

So why don’t we just put our kids in Preschool and Daycare as fulltime working parents? Because the world feels like choices that should be ours aren’t anymore. It feels like what parent’s think is best for their kids just doesn’t matter. It’s up to everyone else as to what is done. In the most dangerous ways possible.

No this is not just about vaccinations or not. My kids are too young to get anything right now anyway, so putting them in Daycare isn’t affected as to whether or not we want that for our kids. But a better example is the story of a minor celebrity who lived in the Naples, Florida area who brought her son into the doctor’s office due to dehydration from weaning off of breastfeeding. Nothing out of the ordinary but she wanted to make sure he obtained the nutrients he needed while he was fighting this change in his life.

So, the doctor accused her of abuse, and they took her son away. She was weaning her son because she was about to give birth to his litter sister and wanted to start the process, and guess what the state did as they were fighting for their (her and her husband) son back? They took their 2 day old daughter from them while coming back from the doctors office.

There was no sign of child abuse and with their son also no actual signs of child abuse. How do I know this? Well because this doctor had been doing this for many years, separating families based on how she felt about the parents not on the medical diagnosis. How do I know that? Because its articles are being written about her and all of the families, she has hurt forcing her to close down her business. (also court cases are public and thankfully, a judge calling her out for her wrong doings are part of the transcripts.)

So why does this stop us from putting our son into daycare? Because this kind of stuff is happening way more often than anyone wants to admit. Not just false child abuse claims, but the Karen’s of the world calling the Police for anything, and the lawsuits because of masks, or the mandates getting put into place no matter what.

So when it comes to my family, we just agreed we can wait a bit longer, hoping the fire the world is under starts to cool down a year from now or even two years from now. Thankfully, my son was born right after the cut off so he would be in preschool an extra year. Giving us time and the world time before they become involved in decisions that really just don’t belong to anyone else. Not unless there is actual abuse. And it’s what the world is forgetting.

We will survive this but with the days we are having, with the crying, the tantrums and just overwhelming needs the kids have that have to come first while… we also need to get our jobs done. Although it’s been incredibly difficult.

​First World Problems maybe, but that doesn’t make the problems any less real and the future any less scary.
