Are We Normalizing Unacceptable Behavior?
Karen’s as the HOA enforcer, Vivienne’s hanging up on her employees…what are these commercials now and days? Is showing the humor of horrible behavior towards others our way of normalizing what we should not accept right in front of our faces?
I understand completely finding the humor in the worst situations. And have loved it when comedians “went too far” because there is some serious benefit to a great laugh but then again…I worry when I see a commercial because it’s funny until it’s so ingrained in us that we expect it in our daily lives.
It is like the Karen’s of the world have found a way to brainwash us all into thinking that they can continue to be as ridiculous as ever because now we will comply with their wants while laughing! Yes, that was indeed a run-on sentence. Sorry all my English teachers, I can’t help it, it’s called passion.
Anyway…I am officially saying No thank you to this new way of telling us all how to comply with life. I’m not going to have my home perfectly manicured to the standards of someone who wastes all their time harassing the community because they have no life. And I am not going to live and breathe my job to the point of neglecting my kids for a deadline at my job.
I am officially saying NO THANK YOU to this new way of telling us all how to comply with life
Work life balance for those of us still employed should be the normalization, and the solace of our homes when times are this bad. Instead it is just more employers telling us when to eat lunch, workout, smile, and think…. along with our homes being invaded by our neighbor’s sad lonely life
