5 Bad Habits to Break
When we think bad habits many of us may automatically think bad habits are just biting your nails or eating bad foods to often. Maybe some go to the bigger habits of Smoking and Alcohol consumption.
But let’s be honest with ourselves
Bad Habits are much more than forgetting to change your laundry load all the time. Or always forgetting to put your shoes back in the wrong place. It's small moments that we have everyday. That we don't even realize is a habit and it makes us less productive or potentially mental health triggers.
Let’s look at some common but definitely BAD habits to break
1. Checking your Phone during a Conversation- While you may not think this is rude or bad behavior. It is. But that's not why you should try to break this habit. It's more like you are Pavlov's Dog. Waiting for that Notification that life is begging for you to be apart of it again. And in the process you are also making the person you are talking to feel like they are unimportant. It's just not a good idea all the way around.
2. Saying Yes, when you really want to say NO!- You may even want to say yes most of the time but its not good for you or the person asking if all your doing is putting your self out there for everyone else and neglecting yourself and your emotions. This leads to burn out and will hurt your potential for success.
3. Poor posture- I know, it's hard not to roll your eyes at this one. But it's actually a detrimental habit. It causes a ton of pain over time and many other health issues and frankly its not that hard to change it. Its worth just trying to straighten up a bit more often. Maybe those headaches you keep getting will disappear.
4. Stereotyping- Many people would say they don't do this when they really do it often. But it's a bad habit and it's not just plan unkind. People are not all a certain way because you had one friend who did this, or an ex who did that. Let go of your issues and stop making it a group issue. It's just YOUR issue.
5. Comparing yourself to Others- In the age of social media this is especially hard to stop doing. Especially because it's in your face even when you don't want it to be. But everyone's life isn't perfect and what you see in someone's life really is just that one moment, that one piece of the puzzle. Most of us are going through similar things making us all no better or worse than each other.
