5 Business Strategies That Failed Me: What I've Learned from Them

As a business owner, I've tried various strategies to help my business grow and succeed. Some have worked wonders, while others have fallen flat on their face. I'm here to share with you five strategies that didn't work for me and what I've learned from them.

  • Being too salesy on social media: Social media is a great tool for promoting your business, but it's important to strike a balance between promoting your products and services and being too salesy. I found that when I constantly posted sales pitches on social media, people began to tune out and stop engaging with my posts. Instead, I started sharing more behind-the-scenes glimpses of my business, offering helpful tips, and engaging with my followers in a more authentic way.

  • Trying to do everything myself: As a single owner of an online business, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you need to do everything yourself. But I quickly learned that trying to handle everything on my own was not sustainable, and it was leading to burnout. I realized that it was okay to  us the tools created for people like myself and pay for it. Spend money to make money! • Relying too heavily on one platform: When I first started my business, I relied heavily on one social media platform to promote my products and services. But when that platform's algorithm changed, my engagement plummeted, and I was left scrambling to find new ways to reach my audience. I learned that it's important to diversify your marketing efforts and not rely too heavily on one platform or strategy.

  • Ignoring analytics and data: In the early days of my business, I didn't pay much attention to analytics and data. I thought that as long as I was making sales, everything was fine. But as my business grew, I realized the importance of tracking metrics like website traffic, email open rates, and social media engagement. Analyzing this data helped me make informed decisions about where to focus my marketing efforts and what strategies were working best for my business.

Running a successful online business takes trial and error, and sometimes the strategies that work for others might not work for you. It's important to stay open-minded, experiment with different tactics, and be willing to pivot when something isn't working. And remember, even if a strategy doesn't work out, it's an opportunity to learn and grow.

Who Am I? The face behind this screen is easily seen at Youtube.com at GBRLIFE or the VLOG Page. But, I know that doesn't answer the question as to who I am. I'm a Mom, Wife, and full-time employee, who also happens to own her Own Vlog, Blog, Podcast, and Clothing Line. I have two kids of my own and 2 step kids and I’ve been married to a wonderful man since 2017. My 9-5 job is in the Technology industry so I deal with men all day, but I love getting to learn new things and helping humanity grow in the technology realm. On the side, I have always been a writer and I happen to talk a ton so GBRLIFE came into fruition along with a couple of books. I have loved every minute of GBRLIFE and I'm happy to share it with all of you. Please keep reading, commenting, following, buying, and subscribing! You make all of this possible and worth it. SO to finally answer the Who am I question...well I'm you! My Journey is your Journey!
